Ash Creek Open Space

Boat launch access is available directly after the entrance to Ash Creek Open Space. Fee charged to access boat ramp at marina portion of site. No fee for car-top launching. Non-residents of Town of Fairfield should contact the Town for information on obtaining a pass to use the launch ramp for launching trailered-vessels at this site.From the East: Take I-95 South. Take the US-1 exit 23 to Kings Highway and continue 0.11 miles. Turn slight left onto Kings Highway Cutoff/ US-1 South and drive 0.6 miles. Turn left onto Boston Post RD/ US-1 and continue 0.1 miles. Turn slight right onto Old Post Road and continue 0.07 miles. Turn left onto Turney Road which intersects Riverside Drive. From the West: Take I-95 North. Take exit 22, Round Hill Road and continue 0.27 miles. Stay straight to go onto ramp and continue 0.07 miles. Turn slight right onto Walls Drive and drive 0.17 miles. Turn right onto North Benson Road/ Route 135 and continue 0.12 miles. Turn left onto Boston Post RD/ US-1. Continue to followPost Road for 0.29 miles. Turn slight right onto Old Post Road and continue 0.07 miles. Turn left onto Turney Road which intersects Riverside Drive.

Birdseye Street Boat Launch

Birdseye Street, Stratford, CT

Birdseye Street Boat Launch is an easy to use boat launch at the mouth of the Housatonic River with plenty of parking. There is also a deck for sitting and viewing the Housatonic River and Nell's Island. Launching requires town permit. Restrooms are portable and only available during the summer. To help you reach Birdseye Street Boat Launch, some routes leading to this site are posted with the brown and white Long Island Sound Access sign. From the East: Take I-95 South to exit 32. Make a left onto Linden Avenue. Turn left onto West Broad Street. You are going to pass through one roundabout. Then take a right onto Route 113/Main Street, follow for 0.7 miles. Turn left onto Birdseye Street. Follow Birdseye Street to the end where the Boat Launch is located. From the West: Take I-95 North to exit 31. Take a sharp right onto Honeyspot Road. Then make a left onto Birdseye Street. Follow Birdseye Street to the end where the Boat Launch is located.

Brewster Street Boat Launch

Brewster Street, Bridgeport, CT

Brewster Street Boat Launch provides access to Black Rock Harbor. Minimal on-street parking available.  From the East: Take I-95 South. Take the Fairfield Avenue exit which is exit 25 Route 130. 0.1 miles. Turn left onto Fairfield Avenue 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Ellsworth Street 0.4 miles. Turn left onto Brewster Street 0.1 miles. Follow Brewster until end of the road. From the West: Take I-95 North. Take exit 24 which is the Black Rock Turnpike exit 0.2 miles. Turn slight left onto Kings Highway approximately 0.1 miles. Turn slight right onto Black Rock Turnpike 0.3 miles. Black Rock Turnpike becomes Brewster Street 0.9 miles. Follow Brewster until end of the road.

Canfield Crossing Subdivision

Canfield Avenue, Norwalk, CT

This small cove-side subdivision with on-site parking for public use of a small car-top boat launch and public viewing area includes a tidal wetland restoration area.From I-95N take exit 16 towards East Ave, take a right onto East Ave. Next take a left onto Cemetary St., CT-136, and then a fairly quick right onto Gregory Blvd and then a quick left onto Old Saugatuck Rd. After .1 miles take a right onto Pine Hill Ave, travel .4 miles and then turn left onto Marvin St. Marvin St. turns slightly to the right and turns into Canfield Ave. Turn left ono Canfield Crossing and the public access site is right before the gate to the subdivision. From I-95s take exit 16 towards East Ave, take a left onto East Ave. Next take a left onto Cemetary St., CT-136, and then a fairly quick right onto Gregory Blvd and then a quick left onto Old Saugatuck Rd. Mill Pond

191 Hillspoint Rd, Westport, CT

Mill Pond is a municipally owned park in Westport, Connecticut. Parking and car top boat launch access is available to non-residents October through April while Town residents may launch year round by permit only. Permits issued only to residents of Westport. Non-residents may launch year-round at the nearby Saugatuck River State Boat Launch.  The general public may park at metered parking spots (1 hour parking) on Hillspoint Road to access the site when on-site parking is restricted to residents only. Tide gates on Mill Pond do not provide boating access to Long Island Sound. From the East: Take I-95 South. Take exit 18 to Sherwood Island State Park and continue 0.16 miles. Take the ramp to US-1/Westport and continue 0.09 miles. Take Sherwood Island Connector/Route 476 North and continue 0.19 miles. Turn left onto Greens Farms Road and continue 0.84 miles. Turn left onto Hills Point Road and continue 0.65 miles. Site is on left just before Old Mill Road. Non-residents must park on Hills Point Road May-September. From the East: Take I-95 South. Take exit 18 to Sherwood Island State Park and continue 0.16 miles. Take the ramp to US-1/Westport and continue 0.09 miles. Take Sherwood Island Connector/Route 476 North and continue 0.19 miles. Perry's Mill Ponds

Sturges Road, Fairfield, CT

Perry's Mill Ponds is a large site with beautiful scenic trails. Launch your canoe and observe the wildlife along the Mill River. Activities:Bird and Wildlife,Boating,Crabbing,Fishing,Historic, Cultural Interest,, Trails, Walkways. Parking Lot. From the East: Take I-95 South. Take the Mill Plain Road exit 21 and continue 0.22 miles. Turn slight right onto Sturges Road. Parking will be on your right, next to the water and the sign for the site is on the left side of the road with hiking trails. Continue driving and you will find more hiking trails on the right side of the road. From the West: Take I-95 North. Take the Mill Plain Road exit 21 and continue 0.21 miles. Turn left onto Mill Plain Road 0.12 miles. Turn slight left onto Sturges Road. Parking will be on your left, next to the water and the sign for the site is on the right side of the road with hiking trails. Take a right onto Sturges Road and you will find more hiking trails on the right side of the road.

Saugatuck Center Canoe and Kayak Launch in Westport

570 Riverside Ave, Westport, CT

Paddlers may bring their own canoes and kayaks to access the tidally-influenced Saugatuck River or for a small fee, the public can rent on-site. A public access walkway meanders on the site near water views of the Saugatuck River. There is both on-street and off-street parking available at 570 Riverside Ave., located just north of the I-95 overpass.
