(203) 854-7900. Norwalk has one of the largest and most important collections of Depression-era WPA (Works Progress Administration) art in America today located in City Hall. Initiated by President Roosevelt in the 1930's, the WPA paid artists to create art in public spaces. Today these works are a unique window to America's past. Additional murals are at: Norwalk Transit District; Norwalk Community College; Maritime Aquarium; the Norwalk and South Norwalk Public Libraries, Rowayton Library and Belden St. Post Office.
