Wilton Historical Society & Heritage Museum

Rte. 15, Exit 39B. (203) 762-7257. Five 18th and 19th century buildings including two classic center chimney homes, and c.1860 barn and working blacksmith shop, plus colonial garden. Displaying 12 period rooms from colonial to Victorian eras, showing changes in Connecticut home life, the economy, furniture and decorations, 1740-1910. Changing exhibits in the Burt Barn Gallery, and permanent installation of more than 600 tools, plus a toy loft. Betts Store Museum Shop, all items made in USA. Museum/store hours Tues. – Sat. 10–4. Woodcock Nature Center

(203) 762-7280. A series of trails offering beautiful woodland, swamp, river and pond habitats wind through this 149 acre preserve. Trails are open dawn to dusk daily.
