On Sunday, January 9,2011 the Connecticut Chamber Choir, under the direction of Constrance Chase, wiil present Laudate at Saint Theresa Roman Catholic Church, Trumbull.  The choir greets the New Year with an ambitious, jubilant program of sacred works of praise dating from the 18th century to present day:  JSBach, Magnificant, BWV 24, WAMozart, TeDeum, K, 141, Gerald Finzi, Magnificat, Franz Biebl, Ave Maria and John Rutter, Te Deum.  The CCChoir will be accompanied by Jeffrey Wood at the organ and a guest orchestra of Connecticu's top instrumentalists.  Tickets available at the door--Adults $15, Seniors/students $12 and children under 12 free.  Call for further information.

On Sat. from 6:30 - 9 p.m. Music Under the Stars in January? Yes!  In the Henry B. duPont III Planetarium! It's a natural combination--timeless music played under the dome of the starlit heavens.  Music will be provided by Music Haven, a string quartet of exceptionally talented musicians who have performed around the world. A star show will accompany and inform the musical presentation. The program will feature "Tenebrae," an original work by Osvaldo Golijov (2000) inspired by a unique juxtaposition of events experienced within a week's time--a visit to Israel during a time of great strife followed by visit to New York's planetarium--and "String Quartet No. 5," Philip Glass, Composer (1991).  Discussion will follow.
