A new exhibition entitled, Full Bloom: The Artist's View on Gilded Age Botanicals, a collaboration between Center for Contemporary Printmaking and the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, will open at the Mansion on April 9. The exhibition will run through May 3, 2015, at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, with an Opening Reception on April 9, 2015, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. The Opening Reception is free. General Admission April 9 through May 3, 12-4 p.m.: $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $6 8-18.

Sunday, May 17, 4:00 – 6:00pm -- Franklin Street Works is excited to present a collaborative storytelling event called "Show and Tell: Fandom" with local storytelling organization, Ignite Stamford. The theme of this event will be Fandom, inspired by "Our Hobby is Depeche Mode," a Jeremy Deller video piece currently on view in the group exhibition "It's gonna take a lotta love." Anyone can sign up for the event to "tell" a 2-3 minute story about a moment in their life when they were a big fan and showed it. Join Peter Linderoth of the Bruce Museum Science Department on a walk to identify trees, an appropriate adjunct to Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board's Paper Shredding Day (9:30 am - 12:30 am) today. Remember, trees are where the paper process starts -- among the many crucial ecosystem services they provide! Learn about the physical characteristics that environmental scientists observe during tree identification and about the basics of utilizing a dichotomous key. Following a brief discussion, participants will identify trees during a non-strenuous guided walk around the Museum grounds and Bruce Park. Before you know it, you will be identifying the trees in your yard with ease! Program will start in the Bruce Museum front lobby at 11:00 am.

In dazzling costume, through powerful dance, exceptional percussion and expressive mime, eight youth performers tell the compelling story of a girl who is mysteriously tempted to abandon her grandmother and their simple fishing village to experience the fast-paced hip-hop life style of the city. Not only is her own fate in the balance, but the very health of the dying River Tocantins. Rios de Encontro invites young audience members to learn the rhythms, choruses and choreography of this Afro-Indigenous reinterpretation of an Amazonian legend, enabling them to experience the cultural beauty and contemporary challenges of the Amazon.
