Join us at 12:30 pm any Monday or Friday in August to learn more about our friends, Robert and Edith, SM&NC’s North American River Otters. One of our otter keepers will introduce you to the North American River Otter though a variety of hands-on activities and demonstrations. Then at 1 pm, it’s time to move on the otter observation deck to watch as Robert and Edith are fed their favorite meal of the day…lunch! Norwalk Seaport Association sponsors Haunted Lighthouse Tours -- August 14 & 15, 2010. Ghosts, ghouls and goblins greet visitors to the historic Sheffield Island Lighthouse, which is decorated to provide thrills and chills for youngsters of all ages (only two rooms are kept dark). This fun-filled, child-friendly haunted attraction includes activities for young visitors. Haunted Lighthouse activities are free, but participants must purchase round-trip ferry tickets -- $22.00 adults ... $12.00 children ages 4-12 ... $5.00 children ages 3 and younger. Reservations recommended - NSA Ferry cruises to Sheffield Island depart at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Enjoy a relaxing Friday summer evening with your family around the campfire at Earthplace. Larry Gall, Westport's resident moth hunter, will lure them in with a yummy-for-moths bait so we can see the moths up close. Find out what other beetles, dragonflies, grasshoppers and other insects come out at night. For the two-legged creatures, we'll provide s'more fixin's. Bring a blanket or folding chair.

Pre-registration required, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Explore Stony Brook to learn how water moves dirt, how animals cope with big rainstorms, who lives in the water, what plants do well in watery soil, and so much more. We'll get right into the water, so wear sneakers and old clothes.  Included with regular admission.
