Sundays, June 22 – October 5, 10am – 2pm. We're thrilled to bring back the SM&NC Farm Market — now on Sundays!. The Farm Market will be located conveniently on the Meadow. New and additional vendors will offer a wider variety of fresh, local items. The Market will also feature a different food truck each week so you can enjoy lunch at one of our picnic tables by the Bendel Pond. We'll be selling our very own products from Heckscher Farm — fresh eggs, maple syrup and yarn. Each Sunday, activities for families will be led by one of our environmental educators. Sundays, September 7 – October 5, 10 am – 3:30 pmSupport local farmers and explore the SM&NC through hands-on activities and crafts. Our Sunday Farm Market runs through October 5 and will be the center of our Sunday programs. Participate in a self-guided craft on the Meadow, see oxen and goat demonstrations, and watch our North American River Otters — Bert and Edie — receive their lunch. At 1:30 pm, join us for a chance to “Follow Your Food” as we learn where some of our favorite foods come from through live animal visits and cooking experiences. Get an SM&NC Farm Journal and solve the Mystery Food of the Week, where we’ll learn about an ingredient featured at the market. All programs will meet on the Meadow. Craft, goat and oxen demos are weather permitting; Follow your Food will meet in the Overbrook Nature Center in case of inclement weather; Otter Feeding is rain or shine. 10 am – 2 pm Self-guided craft (weather permitting) 10:30 am Oxen Demonstration 11:30 am Get your Goat. 1 pm River Otter Feeding Demonstration. 1:30 pm Follow your Food. 3:30 pm Animal Meet & Greet (outdoor classroom). On Sunday, this is a fun family friendly event open to all ability levels. The race is a beautiful and scenic flat course and awards to all age groups in 1st to 3rd place.
