Get everyone together, pack a picnic and comfortable seating and head for Calf Pasture Beach to enjoy Norwalk's annual Fireworks Display, which begins at dusk on Tuesday, July 3 (rain date July 5). Organized by the Norwalk Department of Recreation and Parks, the fireworks can be enjoyed from both Calf Pasture Beach and Shady Beach. Parking is available at Calf Pasture Beach only. A parking fee of $20.00 will be charged for cars without a Norwalk beach sticker. The July 4th Fireworks are always held on the 4th of July in Fairfield with a rain date of July 5th.  Fireworks explode just after dark, usually around 9:15 PM, from a barge off of Long Island Sound so the show can be seen easily from either Penefield Reef, 323 Fairfield Beach Rd. or Jennings Beaches. The warm-up band for the big show is: The Atwood Express Oldies Band playing at Jennings Beach from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Beach Parking Permits are not required and parking is free after 6:00 PM at both the Penfield and Jennings parking lots but they do fill up early.  Jennings has more ample parking. The Barnum Museum invites everyone to enjoy the 203rd Anniversary - Barnum's Birthday Bash in celebration of the birthday of P.T. Barnum, famed showman, philanthropist and one of Bridgeport's best-known citizens. The party will be held on Friday, July 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport. Author Elinor Biggs, P.T. Barnum's great, great, great grand daughter will be on hand to sign copies of her new book, The Pig That Could Read,Zoo visitors will also be able to watch the Emmy Award winning production Barnum Lives, and author Michael Bielawa who will bring Bridgeport Baseball and Wicked Bridgeport and also be able to talk with zoo visitors about his brand new Wicked New Haven book being released July 2.

The Barnum Museum invites everyone to enjoy the 203rd Anniversary - Barnum's Birthday Bash in celebration of the birthday of P.T. These two dedicated Park City institutions will collaborate to celebrate the life and times of former resident, P.T. Barnum.
