Ages 5 – 12. Our winter home-school day will focus on the numbers found in nature—from the ratio of sap to syrup for maple sugaring to the amount of hay our farmers feed every week to our animals. A lab-based class will cover many other numbers, from the 8 legs of arachnids to the 14 different types of snakes in Connecticut. Plus, we'll take a journey through our solar system to explore some really out-of-this-world numbers! Limited enrollment to enhance the small group experience. No charge for teachers/chaperones and non-participating siblings. A group lunch will allow for home schoolers to meet each other and exchange ideas. Shelton Historical Society Teen Time Travelers

A group of young people, ages 13-18, who are interested in history and sponsored by the Shelton Historical Society to learn, to teach, and to promote awareness of the Shelton Historical Society. Our Winter Break Enrichment program runs Friday 2/17, Monday 2/20 and Tuesday 2/21. Register your child(ren) for any or all days. We are offering half days for children 3-4 years old and full days for children 5-7 years old (see times and pricing below).
​ Children will discover a winter wonderland and explore the snowy woodlands and frozen pond. Each day your child will learn about the frosty world around them through outdoor exploration, animal presentation, hikes, and crafts. Each day will focus on a specific topic. Winter activities include acting as snow detectives and hunting for animal tracks, learning where animals live in the winter and making our own winter snow homes, and painting in the snow! Dress for the outdoors with layers and winter gear (snow pants, boots, gloves, hat). Pack a change of clothes in case we get snowy and wet. 3-4 year olds: 9:00-12:00, $50 per day, pack a nut free snack and a reusable water bottle. *Must be fully potty trained and able to use the bathroom independently in order to attend. 5-7 year olds: 9:00-3:00, $80 per day, pack a nut free snack and lunch and a reusable water bottle. ​*Registration for each day ends at 1pm the business day prior.
