April 26-28, 2016--NEW SOLARPLATE PRINTS with Dan Welden--Tuesday - Thursday, 10am-4pm--3-day intensive workshop, limited to 8. Solarplate intaglio is an exciting, spontaneous, and simple method of making impressions with alternative and safer practices. Developed by Master Printer Dan Welden, solarplate intaglio utilizes UV light and ordinary tap water instead of traditional grounds and acids. The solarplate is the original light-sensitized polymer printing plate that yields all types of images. Artists may draw, paint, photograph or do digital manipulations on film, glass or mylar. Artists can also paint directly on the solarplate and create a matrix capable of yielding many impressions. Participants will be able to produce several 8x10 inch images during this engaging, fast-paced workshop. This workshop will use the new solarplates, recently reformulated by Dan Welden, and is appropriate for both beginner and experienced solar plate printers.
