7:30 pm. Hosted by The Reverend Mark Lingle. The critically acclaimed 1983 movie, TENDER MERCIES, tells the story of recovering alcoholic country singer Mac Sledge (Robert Duvall). The film revolves around the relationship between Mac Sledge and Rosa Lee (Tess Harper), who helps Mac get back on his feet. TENDER MERCIES encompasses several themes, including the importance of love and family, the possibility of spiritual resurrection, and the concept of redemption through Mac Sledge's conversion. The film received five Oscar nominations and won for Best Screenplay, and Robert Duvall received the Best Actor Oscar.

10 am - 4 pm. This workshop is designed as a practical guide to silk aquatint plate making and printing, with a focus on its ability to make inexpensive tonal images 24" x 36" and larger. While participants can decide what is large scale in the context of their work, they will be encouraged to work large and take advantage of the gestural qualities of these painterly prints. Participants will cover screen and substrate selection, adhering of the fabric over large areas, as well as the many acrylic mediums and their effects. Plate making will be non- toxic and plates can be printed with either Akua Inks or oil-based inks. The goal will be individualized development and the realization of one ambitious project.

Dioscover marine biodiversity from the water's surface down to the bottom for a first-hand understanding of Long Island Sound's interdependent marine life. We utilize such sampling techniques as a plankton tow, trawl net and biodredge that generally bring up a variety of fish, crabs, mollusks and more right out of Long Island Sound right before your eyes! A videomicroscope tied to a giant-screen monitor and a large touch tank on board enhance observations. 2.5 hours. Tickets are $29.95 ($24.95 for Aquarium members).
