Maritime Aquarium Norwalk Sensory-Friendly Days

04/02/2016 to 04/04/2016

South Norwalk, CT Phone: 203-852-0700.

For some children, the Aquarium is a place with too much stimuli. So we're planning three special days (a weekend + a Monday) to give children with sensory-processing differences a fun, comfortable and accepting environment. During "Sensory-Friendly Days," lights in the Aquarium will be lower, and music and other sounds will be turned down or off. We'll show specially selected IMAX movies, with lower volume and the theater lights less dim. And we'll have a designated calming room.
For families that need to leave within the first 30 minutes, passes will be available to come back and try again another day.
This effort also supports "Light It Up Blue" on World Autism Awareness Day on April 2.
