Welcome summer by taking a stroll along Rowayton Avenue for an evening of free entertainment, refreshments and works of art – from 5:00-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 4.  Participating Art Walk venues are Brendan's 101, Green Moon, The Harbor Gallery, Rowayton Arts Center and William Pitt Sotheby's. Art on view will include paintings by Merion Frolich at Brendan's, marine art at Harbor Gallery, a preview of the 24th Walter Brooks Memorial Watercolor exhibit at RAC, and works by Margo Reynolds Packer at William Pitt Sotheby's.  Live musical performances include blues guitarist Dan Stevens at the Arts Center and saxophonist Matty Matt & Blippity Blat at Brendan's.

On June 4, 2011, Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield will host a nature walk in celebration of American Hiking Society's 19th annual National Trails Day.® The walk will be held at Audubon's Center at Fairfield on Burr Street in Fairfield from 9:30am -11:00am. This leisurely guided 1.5 mile hike through the Connecticut Audubon Society's Larsen Sanctuary will pass through the sanctuary's temperate deciduous forest as well as ponds, a garden marsh, meadow and swamp. There will be time to explore an old foundation and visit Deer Meadow Hawk Observation Platform. The varied terrain is of easy-to-moderate difficulty. Meet in the Nature Store and end with a complementary cup of Birds & Beans Shade Grown Organic Certified coffee. Roasted in New England, it is USDA-approved, 100 percent organic, and certified Bird Friendly by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center (SMBC). Led by zoo staff, this 2 - to 3-mile walk will explore the wildlife and history of this 133 year-old park, which was designed by noted landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead.
