Center for Contemporary Printmaking JAPANESE WOODBLOCK

07/14/2015 to 07/17/2015

299 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT Phone: 203.899.7999.

In this workshop, artists will learn how to carve a woodblock using hand tools, and print it in the Japanese technique. This process uses water-based inks, and does not require a press. Participants will also learn how to maintain and sharpen their tools with waterstones. This traditional printing technique is decidedly low-tech, and therefore well suited to the independent printmaker.
