Saturday, August 2, 5:30 pm - Sunday, August 3, 9 am. Discover the wonders of the Stamford Museum & Nature Center "after hours" at our annual family campout! Pitch a tent under the stars, take a night hike on our forest trails, try trekking above ground on the slackline, meet live birds of prey, create great tree- themed crafts, and help plant a new generation of sugar maple trees. Participants will receive a special tour of our new exhibition “TREEHOUSES: Look Who's Living in the Trees”, peek at the stars through our Observatory telescope, and roast S'mores over the campfire. Start your evening with a great dinner on the meadow, and wake up with a self-guided forest treasure hunt and a pancake breakfast featuring the SM&NC's very own maple syrup. Get an SM&NC Farm Journal and discover the "Mystery Food of the Week" by learning each week about an ingredient featured at the market. Each week farm staff will pick an activity to show the diversity of farm life and how we care for our animals and the environment. We will be conducting hands-on programs for all ages.
