Sunday, October 9, Noon to 4:00. Event admission includes a visit to the Historical Society's current exhibition Everyday Heroes: Greenwich First Responders, which examines the history of Greenwich's police, fire and emergency medical services using objects, stories, photos and ephemera. The exhibition chronicles the history of first response in the community, recounts some of the town's headline-making disasters and explores the nature of public service. Families will especially enjoy the simulated dispatch center where they can "make" or "respond to" 911 calls and the hands-on gallery where kids can try on professional gear and learn about training to be a policeman, fireman or emergency medical worker. There will be music and refreshments will be available. $10 for members. $15 for nonmembers.
