Fairfield Museum -Historic Cycling Tour

9:30am – 11:30am. $5 for Museum member; $8 for non-members, includes admission to the Museum. Advanced, online registration. Cyclists will have a unique opportunity to explore the history of Fairfield by and get some exercise and fresh air while they are at it. The tour, co-sponsored by the Fairfield Museum and the Town of Fairfield's Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee, covers approximately 10 miles and starts and ends at the Museum. It will explore several historic Fairfield locations including the 1750 Ogden House and the Southport setting of the Pequot Indian Swamp Fight. Bicycle helmets required. Children 14 years and older are welcome accompanied by and an adult. Limited to 25 people; advanced registration is required.

New Canaan Fireworks


Waveny Park, New Canaan, CT

The late day activities will include: family picnicking, live music, children's games area, food court, and a spectacular fireworks display. The rain date is July 5 for fireworks only. There will be a variety of foods offered for sale, including wood fired pizza, gourmet grilled cheese, lobster rolls, tacos, Philly cheese steaks, hot dogs, burger and ice cream for purchase. Event passes are necessary to enter the park both by car or walking and may be purchased at the Recreation Department Office, Town Hall, and by New Canaan residents online at www.newcanaan.info. Additionally tickets can be purchased at Walter Stewart's Market and The New Canaan Toy Store. The pass fee is expected to be $35.

Rowayton Fireworks

Rowayton Fireworks will light up the sky offshore from Bayley Beach Monday evening, July 4th (the rain date will be Tuesday, July 5th*). The fireworks, sponsored by the RCA, will be launched from a barge beginning at 9:15pm. The performance will last approximately 30 minutes. *In the event that both the Rowayton and Norwalk fireworks are rained out, the Rowayton Fireworks will take place on Wednesday July 6. Access to parking at Bayley Beach will be according to daytime rules: vehicles with a Bayley Beach sticker will be admitted, a $40 Special Event Parking Fee will be charged to non-residents.
