The programs are appropriate for ages 5 through 12. Kids attending the Junior Detective Workshop will be given notebooks and magnifying glasses – elementary, my dear Watson – and set to work interviewing people and taking notes. The interview subjects will be older Westport residents with stories to tell, so the children will also learn about the town's history. Next they'll examine old photos of Westport, then set out around town in search of the old buildings they saw in the photos. Each day will feature a walking tour, plenty of treasure hunts, tracking games, dramatic play and detective art.
