Sundays, August 9 - August 23, 10 am - 2 pm
Support local farmers and explore the SM&NC through hands-on activities. Join us for a self-guided craft on the meadow, oxen demonstrations, and lunch with Bert & Edie, our North American River Otters, each week.
At 11 am weekly, join us for "Treats and Eats," where we'll make or explore (and eat!) a yummy local treat, such as maple sugar candy or ice cream (weather permitting). Special "Treats and Eats" will celebrate Hot Fudge Sundae Day (7/26) National S'mores Day (8/9) and National Honey Bee Day (8/16).

Stamford Museum & Nature Center - Sunday Farm Market Is Back!

Many of the previous vendors are returning and we've added some new vendors to offer a wider variety of items. We'll be selling our very own farm-fresh eggs from our chickens on Heckscher Farm, maple syrup made in our own Maple Sugar House, and wool from our sheep. There will be weekly farm-related family activities with our "Market Madness" program led by one of our environmental educators. Additionally, a different food truck will be on site each week to allow visitors a chance to purchase lunch to enjoy at one of our picnic tables by the Bendel Pond. Audubon Greenwich Second Sunday Hike

Westport Historical Society Junior Archeologists Summer Program

10 am - 2 pm. Children ages 5-12. Children will have fun and excitement digging around in the past. We will dig up all sorts of facts about our history! Participants will explore natural and timeless crafts and hobbies as well as meet a rock expert who will share his awesome collection. We'll sculpt arrowheads, paint and design walking sticks, weave a basket, learn to play marbles and make a marble bag. Outdoor games and town walks are planned. The exciting finale will be a visit to Sherwood Island for a real dig. $190 for members/ $225 for non-members and a sibling discount is offered. Bring lunch, snack provided Pizza on Thursday.

Solarplate intaglio is an exciting, spontaneous, and simple method of making impressions with alternative and safer practices. Developed by master printmaker Dan Welden, Solarplate intaglio utilizes UV light and ordinary tap water instead of traditional grounds and acids. This workshop will use the new Solarplates, recently reformulated by Dan Welden, and so is appropriate for both beginner and experienced Solarplate printers.

Wednesdays, August 12 & August 19, 2 pm. Meet at the Chicken Coop, (weather permitting). Come by and discover what it takes to be a farmer on Heckscher Farm. Farm staff each week will pick an activity to show the diversity of farm life and how we care for our animals and the environment. We will be conducting hands-on programs for all ages.
