SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2015. Accessibility Day 9:00 – 11:00 am Stepping Stones offers free admission for families of children with special needs the 2nd Saturday of every month. Enjoy the museum's engaging exhibits, mingle with other families and learn with your child in a safe, welcoming, ADA-compliant environment. The museum also has an Accessibility Toolkit always available for sign-out at the Welcome Desk. The kit contains a weighted vest, sensory toys and noise canceling headphones made just for children.

Garden Education Center of Greenwich Hosts 2015 Frolic at French Farm

The entire family is invited to French Farm, where art meets nature in a truly unique private, historic landscape. Children can get up close and personal with the farm's animals; enjoy games, nature crafts and a scavenger hunt; press cider and explore the fossil garden and pterodactyl tower. Adults can take a horticultural tour of the property led by noted landscape designer Florence Boogaerts or learn about the property's cultural landscape, collections and development in a tour led by Jacek Nidzgorski, the farm's long-standing resident. Artists are invited to set up their easels during the event, and visitors are free to snap photos for personal enjoyment. (Permission to publish photos must be obtained by the Friends of French Farm.) A finger-food buffet will include tea sandwiches and sweet and savory pastries by celebrity chef John Barricelli of The SoNo Baking Company. Live music.

Fairfield Museum Museum After Dark: Remembering “The Bridgeport Herald”

 6pm - 8 pm Hear a panel of journalists and media insiders look back at the history of the Bridgeport Herald from the 1930s through the 1970s, exploring the entertainment, gossip, politics, and news that made the paper so popular. Guests include Alan Neigher, son of cartoonist and columnist Harry Neigher, and Frank Gerratana, Jr., whose father was the chief photographer for the paper. Panelists will reflect on shifts in journalism over time and the present state of the news and media.
