Bruce Museum 36th Annual Outdoor Arts Festival

Saturday and Sunday, October 7 and 8, 10 am - 5 pm. Held rain or shine on Bruce Museum grounds. For its 36th edition, more than 85 new and returning artists from across the country will showcase their work. The juried works include painting on canvas, board and paper, mixed media in 2D and 3D, drawings and graphics, including digital media, sculpture and photography. All works are available for purchase and artists are on hand to discuss their pieces and process. In addition, this family-friendly event features delicious lunch menu offerings and free art activities for children. Members have free admission to the Bruce Museum. Walking Tour of Historic District #1, Lambert Corner

11 am - noon. The hour-long guided tour includes Lambert House, formerly known as "Lilacstead", which was built on the site c.1726, and eight other buildings moved there in order to preserve them. They are the Lambert Cottage, Kent District School, Hurlbutt Street Country Store and Post Office, Wilton Railroad Station, Davenport Barn, Cannon Family General Store, 18th-century Cannon Family Corn Crib and the not-to-be-missed George Davenport Greek Revival Privy. The entire site comprises Wilton's Historic District #1. The group will set out from the porch of the Historical Christmas Barn. All are welcome, no charge.

Maritime Aquarium Octoberfest Cruise

Departs 5 pm. Hoist ale on Saturday evenings in October as The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk offers special Octoberfest Cruises featuring tastings from local craft breweries. These adults-only cruises – the latest in the Aquarium's occasional "Maritime With A Twist" social events – will showcase a different brewery each Saturday. Sample and enjoy the breweries' flagship and seasonal products, while taking in the gorgeous sights on Long Island Sound. The schedule is: • Oct. 7 – No Worries Brewing Co. of Hamden • Oct. 14 – Charter Oak Brewing Co. of Danbury • Oct. 21 – Two Roads Brewery Co. in Stratford • Oct. 28 – The Owl's Brew of New York and Beer'd Brewing Co. of Stonington. Rowayton Oktoberfest

Begins at 4:30 pm. On October 7, Munich makes a return visit to the Rowayton Community Center for the fifth Annual Oktoberfest Fundraiser. Grab your lederhosen and press your dirndl, and come join us for a festive evening of German food, music and bier. The event kicks off with a march through town led by horse drawn carriages. Once back to the Community Center Tent, a cannon will mark the ceremonial tapping of the kegs then we'll enjoy German fare such as bratwurst, roasted chicken, pork shank, hashed potatoes, and thick pretzels. Ice cold Spaten will be served in custom RCA steins with crisp Spätburgunder, buttery Chardonnay and sparkling soda available as alternatives. We'll dance and sing "Ein Prosit" into the night before the dance floor evolves into a flash mob dance party to cap off the night. This will be the Rowayton event of the season.
