On December 10 from 10AM to 4PM and December 11, 2011  from 10AM to 2PM come make a visit to Santa's House--a wonderful holiday event for children presented by the Junior Women's Club of Fairfield and Newman's Own.  The Burr Homestead is Santa's House.  Tickets: $5 in advance;$6 at the door.  Children under 2 admitted free.  Featuring Personal photos with Santa Claus, cookies with Mrs. Claus. entertainment all day, holiday crafts for kids, face painting and tattoos, model train room, bakeshop and holiday gift shop, silhouette artist and Rudolph and Frosty.  Proceeds to benefit The Thomas Merton Family Center.

A Step Back In Time Christmas Activity Monroe Historical Society

Children will take a step back in time while at our circa 1780 historic homestead as they learn the history behind Christmas in days of old, make several crafts to take home and share a snack of cookies they create themselves!

On Saturday, December 10, 2011, the No Strings Marionette Company will serve up 'Handsome' and Gretel, a scrumptious rendition of the fairy tale classic, when a cast of 15 handcrafted marionettes leads the audience on a journey where the familiar meets the unexpected. Originally a tale of helpless, abandoned children, this verison sparkles with a contemporary twist where the protagonists learn to speak up for themselves.
