Tuesdays, August 12 - August 19, 2:30 – 3:15pm. Come by and discover what it takes to be a farmer on Heckscher Farm. Each week farm staff will pick an activity to show the diversity of farm life and how we care for our animals and the environment. We will be conducting hands-on programs for all ages. Programs will include milking, grooming, caring for baby animals, and more. Program is weather permitting and will last 30-45 minutes. Meet at the Chicken Coop. On Wednesday 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Stamford Museum & Nature Center in collaboration with Mayapple Center for the Arts and Humanities proudly present Donald E. Pease, Distinguished Dartmouth Professor, as guest lecturer this summer. American Studies scholars demand for expulsion of American Exceptionalism from respectable scholarly discourse has coincided with a spectacular upturn in the usage of the term within the public domain. Print media references to American exceptionalism increased from two in 1980 to a stunning 2,580 in 2012. Join us for this free adult program. A "Q&A" session will follow the lecture. Wednesday, August 13 at 12:15 p.m.  The Barnum Museum’s informal Sneak Peek series continues with programs focusing on the hidden gems in The Barnum Museum collection. If you have ever driven through the Main Street of an older town or city, you have probably marveled at the magnificent homes and buildings forming the streetscape.  Thanks to historic preservation champions throughout the country, thousands of beautiful places have been saved and now define the unique character of our communities. However, many wonderful buildings have been lost to the wrecking ball or destroyed by fire, and only fragments and photographs remain as documents of them. Join Saint-Pierre for a look at some of the remarkable architectural fragments saved from the glorious buildings of Bridgeport’s past, including Barnum’s Iranistan and the Harral-Wheeler Mansion. 8/13    6:00 p.m.    Classic Car Show – This gathering of than 100 vehicles is hosted by the  Coachmen Rod and Custom Club, an organization of men and women who enjoy classic cars. Owners of 1981 and older cars can participate in the shows, which attract owners from throughout the tri-state area. Each car show participant is asked to contribute canned food or make a donation to the St. Vincent De Paul food bank. 7:00 p.m.    Déjà Vu – For ten years, this popular group has been performing "golden
