Walking Tour of Norwalk

Led by local Norwalk Housing Authority art students and their teachers come learn about all the wonderful public art that SoNo has to offer. The tour will begin at 10:30 outside of El Segundo (3 North Water Street) following with a stroll down the Historic Haviland Street through the Sidewalk Gallery to the mural outside the tasty Memo's Restaurant and Bakery. With a few stops in between the tour will then end in the art filled SoNo Train Station.

Night painting was a favorite of Impressionist painters of Weir's time and still is today. Artists are invited to continue the tradition and take part in a new workshop hosted by Weir Farm National Historic Site. Taught by Impressionist artist and master instructor Dmitri Wright, this workshop will feature plein air painting during the latter part of the day and early part of the night. Wright will lecture and demonstrate how to capture inspired moments between sunset and sunrise from an impressionist's perspective. Participants should bring their own supplies, have a basic understanding of their selected art form, and must be able to handle their own equipment for plein air fieldwork as well as for the studio workshop environment. The park has some watercolor supplies available for beginners upon request.
