Audubon's raptor species will open to the public and Joel Oppenheimer's newest art book, The Birds of America – The Bien Chromolithographic Edition, will be presented. This masterpiece is a never-before-published edition of the rare chromolithographic prints of Audubon's American birds. Bound in cloth with a full cloth slipcase, this beautifully produced book is the first complete reproduction of Bien chromolithographs and will become the centerpiece of any bird lover's library. The Health Wellness & Sports Expo 2013, sponsored by Stamford Hospital, will give the public a chance to take charge of their health by providing nearly 75 exhibits, important screenings, medical and nutrition experts and more, Saturday, Sept. 21 & Sunday, Sept. 22, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Chelsea Piers Connecticut sports complex.  Admission is free. All are encouraged to bring one or more nonperishable food items in exchange for free raffle tickets to win healthy door prizes or purchase tickets for $5. All food and proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Northeast Judging Center of the American Orchid Society will be holding its monthly judging on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens in the Silver Educational Center. Orchid plants may be submitted for judging using the following guidelines: All orchid plants or cut flowers submitted at a monthly judging session are candidates for an award. Plants must be entered in the most presentable condition possible. Plants may be entered by the owner in person or by someone else on his/her behalf. The exhibitor completes a single sheet entry form for each plant entered for judging. After an entry number is assigned the exhibitor places the entry form with the plant on the display table.
