Pequot Library invites all artists to explore "en plein air," painting outdoors, during the week-long 18th Annual Fundraising Art Show, from Saturday, October 17 - Friday, October 23, 2015. Paint outdoors in picturesque Southport, CT! Entry forms and maps of locations are online at pequotlibrary.org and at the Front Desk at Pequot Library. Entries will be judged, awards bestowed, and winners will be included in a group exhibition in Pequot Library's Perkin Gallery.

Outdoor Adventures: Fall Owl Prowl--Friday October 23, 6 – 7:30 pm. Discover the secret lives of our favorite feathered nocturnal friends – the owls with one of our environmental educators. Take a look at an owl's role in the food chain with participants dissecting an owl pellet. Meet our new non-releasable teaching Barred Owl, Willow, and discover the types of owls that call Connecticut home. Then, head out into the woods to call for the local owl species, who at this time of year will be preparing for winter. Limited enrollment. Pre-payment and pre-registration are required. Wilton Historical Society Walking Tour of Lambert Corner

Join former First Selectman and Wilton historian Bob Russell on the final walking tour offered this fall of the Wilton Historical Society's preserved Lambert Corner buildings. To be held on Saturday, October 17 at 11:00, the hour-long guided tour includes the Lambert House, which was built on the site c.1726, and eight other buildings moved there in order to preserve them. They are the Lambert Cottage, Kent District School, Hurlbutt Street Country Store and Post Office, Wilton Railroad Station, Davenport Barn, Cannon Family General Store, 18th-century Cannon Family Corn Crib and the not-to-be-missed George Davenport Greek Revival Privy. The entire site comprises Wilton's Historic District #1. The group will set out from the porch of the Historical Christmas Barn.
