JUILLIARD STRING QUARTET--Sunday, 11/18/12--3:00pm--$65 This is a concert that needs no introduction: the legendary Juilliard String Quartet, one of the world's most honored ensembles, will make a very rare Fairfield County appearance, playing two of the towering late string quartets of Beethoven: in E-Flat Major, Op. 127, and in C-Sharp Minor, Op. 131. Author Peter Johnson will present the fascinating life of Ely Parker from his book of historical fiction, Grant\'s Indian. Ely Parker was a Seneca Indian who, as Grant\'s military secretary, wrote the terms of surrender between the United States and the Confederate States of America at Appomattox. Parker lived in Fairfield from 1871 – 1887, at the location where Annie B. Jennings built her grand estate on the Old Post Road. This event is accessible to people with disabilities.
