The Greenwich Historical Society is pleased to present author and photographer , David Spielman.  Through images and words, Spielman will share his experiences during and after the great storm, as he lived without electricity, gas or running water while continuing to photograph his beloved New Orleans .    After the lecture, Mr. Spielman's book Katrinaville Chronicles: Images and Observations from a New Orleans Photographer will be available for purchase and signing.  Seldom-seen original photographs from the Historical Society Library  Archives  depicting Greenwich floods, storms and hurricanes will also be on display. ~ Admission is free but reservations are required. Weir Farm National Park Program: Junior Ranger Day--Wilton

On Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10AM to 4PM, Weir Farm National Historic Site celebrates Junior Ranger Day.  Children are encouraged to explore the site, engage in a variety of activities, and earn their Junior Ranger Badges and Patches.  Two activities wil be available -- the Junior Ranger Letterboxing Booklet and the Junior Ranger Pond Pack.  The Junior Ranger Letterboxing Booklet is filled with clues that children use to navigate the landscape and find stamps in hidden locations.  Five containers, or letterboxes, have been hidden thoughtout the farm.  For those looking for a natural walk, we have the Junior Pond Pack, a backpack containing art and nature-oriented activities to complete on a hike around Weir Pond.  There is no fee to participate in the Junior Ranger Program.
