Save the date!  The Stratford Animal Rescue Society is pleased to announce a date for their annual "Fall Festival To Benefit Animals".  Formerly known as the "Dog Walk & Festival", this festival will be held on Saturday, October 11th at Paradise Green in Stratford from 11:00am-5:00pm and will include a one mile dog walk, food, contests, canine demonstrations, games, music, local celebrities, entertainment, pet adoptions, a silent auction, low cost microchip clinic, vendors for people and pets and more.  For additional information, please visit our event website:  www.starsfest.org

Join us for our 5th annual scarecrow making program and create a scarecrow for our Harvest Festival contest! Families will create a life-size scarecrow that will be exhibited and entered in our scarecrow contest at Harvest Festival (Oct. 18 & 19), then can be picked up in time to grace their lawns for Halloween. Materials are provided but families are encouraged to bring clothing or accessories to help with their creation. One scarecrow per family. Greenwich Historical Society Fall Family Festival and Scarecrow Competition

This traditional fall festival will feature a scarecrow-making competition, a hayride through the town's newest Historic District compliments of Sam Bridge Nursery, and, in keeping with the World War I theme of the Historical Society's fall exhibition Greenwich Faces the Great War, the event will include family-friendly tours of Bush-Holley House, currently interpreted as it would have been during the WWI years. 12:30 to 3:30 pm General admission: $10 for adults and $5 for children. Family admission: $25. Refreshments included in admission. No charge for children 2 and under. Scarecrow Competition: $15 entry fee; $10 for Historical Society members. Advance registration required.
