Candlelight at Bush-Holley Historic Site. On Sunday, December 13, the Greenwich Historical Society will opens its doors for a once-a-year "candlelight" tour of Bush-Holley House decked out in its holiday best. Family-friendly tours led by costumed interpreters are roughly 45 minutes long and focus on Christmas traditions as celebrated by the Bush family, in the early nation period, and later by the Holley family, who were residents when the property was known as the center of the Cos Cob art colony in the early 1900s. Enjoy live holiday music, hot chocolate, seasonal goodies, winter-themed crafts and a special visit with Santa Claus from 5:30-6:30 pm. Appropriate for all ages, admission is free and no reservations are required.

A much anticipated annual musical event, this year's holiday music concert, Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 4:00 pm features professional soloists: Jodi Keogan – Soprano and Mark Watson - Baritone accompanied by pianist David Harris. The musical program will include a selection of beautiful arrangements of popular sacred and secular solos and duets. Amongst the favorites are: I'll Be Home for Christmas, Oh Holy Night, Santa Baby, Irving Berlin's White Christmas, Baby its Cold Outside, as well as a medley of carols. The concert is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. The Board of Deacons of the Church sponsors the concert and invites all attendees to a reception with refreshments directly following the performance.

Design in Murals, Pottery, Architecture and Gold of Early Farmers (5000 to 6000 BC) by oceanographer Dr. William B.F. Ryan, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. The talk focuses on the interconnections between art and science and will feature art from Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Syria and Iraq created at the time when early farmers settled in villages and practiced a culture with features in common. A hypothesis will be presented that widespread similarities in both art and DNA extracted from skeletons can be explained by migrations from an ancestral homeland located on the margins of a former Black Sea freshwater lake.
