On Thursday, October 27,2011 at 7:30PM (doors open at 7PM) at the Greenwich Library, Cole Auditorium the Greenwich Historical Society and Greenwich Library will present a lecture: The Remarkable Life of Louisine Havemeyer, Art Collector and Suffragette.  Ms Rabinow's lecture will explore Louisine's life and interests from her earliest purchases of art by Edgar Degas.  Over the years Louisine and her husband amassed a spectacular art collection which they displayed in their Tiffany-decorated mansion on Fifth Avenue and at Hilltop, their Greenwich estate.  Admission is free. The 10th Annual Haunted event sponsored by the St. Philip Youth Group--Mother Gruesome's Scary Tales will be held on Friday, October 28 from 7-9PM; Saturday, October 29 from 6 to 9PM (lights on for little ones--i.e. "less scary") from 6 to 6:30PM and Sunday, October 30 from 6:30PM to 8:30PM.  Cost is $6 for ages 12 and up and $4 for under 12 with group rates available.  A bake sale will be held in conjunction with the event.  All proceeds to benefit youth activities.
