The Ghosts of Gettysburg Battlefield Program at Shelton Intermediate School

On Thursday, October 18, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. come explore what some people claim is the most haunted battlefield in the world. Carolyn Ivanoff, housemaster at Shelton Intermediate School, presents "The Ghosts of Gettysburg Battlefield," a popular program suitable for all age groups and especially those interested in the Civil War, the Battle of Gettysburg, and the supernatural. The program provides the audience with an overview and description of the three-day battle through period and contemporary photos, the personal stories of the men who fought the battle, and maps.  The highlights of the program are the ghostly images caught on film.  Decide for yourself what you see in them. Light refreshments will be served.   Admission is free for members; $5 for non-members.  Attendance is limited to 100 people.  The Bristol Historical Society Museum is located at 98 Summer Street.  The museum can be entered from Center Street, Summer Street or from a ramp on the east side of the rear parking lot.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

One of the greatest percussion ensembles in the world, the Royal Drummers and Dancers of Burundi have performed in the same way for centuries, passing down traditions and techniques from father to son. Their performances were traditionally a part of particular ceremonies, such as births, funerals and the enthronement of Kings.
