10:30am - 11:15am. Zoo Tots is a 45 minute program for children 22 months to 4 years and a parent or caregiver. Program may include theme-related songs or games, live animals and a simple craft. Zoo Tots is held in the Research Station at 10:30 am. You may sign up for a Tuesday or Wednesday program. Pre-registration is required by calling 203-394-6563. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. - Mysterious Bridgeport: Wicked Walking Tour of Historic Downtown Bridgeport. This non-strenuous walking tour will be led by Michael J. Bielawa, poet and a historian at the Bridgeport Public Library and author of the book Wicked Bridgeport.  The  walking tour will focus on the Park City's macabre and fascinating downtown history. Tales of pirates, gangsters, ghosts, a Victorian Era international manhunt and the unsolved murder of a world-famous sea captain all lurk along the streets and alleys of downtown Bridgeport. Focusing on Bridgeport's magnificent historic sites, this fascinating program will guide guests through the intrigue of the city's 19th century streets. Bielawa will be signing and selling his books after the tour, when the group returns to the museum for refreshments.

The walk lasts approximately 90 minutes and comfortable footgear is highly suggested. Advance reservations are needed since the program is limited to 25 participants. On Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 11am - 4pm, the public has a unique opportunity to have their own antiques and heirlooms appraised during the Appraisal Day: Antiques, Fine Art and Collectibles at Pequot Library. This program is offered during Pequot Library's 17th Annual Art Show Weekend. Bring your treasures to Pequot Library where experts from NYC-based Heritage Auctions will evaluate your heirloom items. Registration is now open at pequotlibrary.org. $20.00 per piece in advance/$25.00 per piece at the door. The ten categories include: Coins/Currency; Jewelry; Comics; Sports; Fine Arts; Watches;  Photography; Books/Manuscripts; Collectibles/Entertainment; Decorative Arts: Silver, Glass, Furniture. The ten stations will be located throughout Pequot Library in the Auditorium/Concert Hall, The Perkin Gallery, and the Reading Room. Proceeds help fund 495 annual programs at Pequot Library. Pequot Library's 17th Annual Art Show is part of National Arts and Humanities Month in October. The arts are a part of our lives each and every day, and the nation takes the whole month of October to commemorate and celebrate the arts in big ways, it's National Arts & Humanities Month - the largest annual celebration for the arts and humanities in the nation!
