Greenwich Audubon Birds Are More Colorful Than They Look

12/16/2013

613 Riversville Road, Greenwich, CT Phone: 203-869-5272.

6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.  Please RSVP to Jeff at x239 or greenwichcenter@audubon.org The evening will begin at 6 PM with a reception for Mr. Montgomerie. Suggested donations of $5-10 will be collected at the door and will directly support Audubon's conservation mission. Recent technological advances have allowed us to measure accurately the colors that birds display, and to estimate what they see when they look at each other. The surprise is that they are much more colorful than they look to us, and that they can detect subtle differences in coloration that are invisible to us.
