An added treat will be George Shearing's Songs and Sonnets, showcasing amusing settings of Shakespeare's poetry, deftly scored for choir, jazz piano, and bass.

The Exchange Club of New Canaan, in conjunction with the Silvermine Arts Center, is holding its annual wine tasting fundraiser to benefit children’s causes on behalf of both organizations. The event, to be held at the Silvermine Arts Center will have a fine selection of wines sponsored by the New Canaan Wine Merchants. A portion of the proceeds of all wine purchased at the event will benefit the children’s programs of the Exchange Club and the Silvermine Arts Center. $40 per person in advance; $50 per person at the door on the day of the event. “Kayaking in and around the Norwalk Islands”

East Norwalk Library. 7:00 PM. David will be joined by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 72 and an 18 ft sea-kayak, gear and apparel will be on display courtesy of the Small Boat Shop of Norwalk. Participants will be able to interact and ask questions on local kayaking including safety issues and island wildlife. Signed copies of the local guidebook will be available for $10. This is a free event.

About the Film: Born to Kill was a classic and some say archetypal film noir movie directed by Robert Wise who would go on to direct several other movies in the same genre. The notable cast included Claire Trevor who did so many film noir features that she became known as the "Queen of Film Noir," and the controversial Lawrence Tierny whose extensive film career included Reservoir Dogs. Michael Kovner is the host.
