We're thrilled to bring back the SM&NC Friday Farm Market and have made some exciting new changes for this year. First, we're moving the Farm Market location to our lovely Meadow. We've also added some new exciting vendors to offer a larger variety of items and we'll also have a wood burning pizza truck so you can hang around and have lunch at one of our picnic tables by the Bendel Pond. BugFest!Saturday, June 23, 10 am - 3 pm Celebrate the opening of our newest exhibit, Tarantulas: Alive & Up Close, with a day full of our favorite insects and invertebrates! We'll explore the forest, pond and field with nets and bug boxes for the boneless beasts that live there, investigate the world of invertebrates on a creepy crawly scavenger hunt and get the first chance to visit with the 20 species of live spiders in our new exhibition. We'll even have a chance to eat like a tarantula during our Edible Insects class, where we'll be serving real insect treats for visitors to try. June 23 - 30: Family Favorite Chris Rowlands LIVE, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm daily.Famous for getting everyone involved, Rowlands brings animals to life through kid-friendly songs, dance, puppets, and colorful props. Chris creatively blends music, comedy, and education to create fast paced, interactive shows that teach and inspire young people. Children are invited to wear fun hats and sing along with Rowlands on stage as he shares his self- penned songs about animals and their environment. Free with paid admission to the Zoo. Each performance is 30-35 minutes long.

Join us on Saturday, June 23rd from 5-7pm at Cocktails and Clams, an event to honor Harbor Watch a water quality monitoring program of Earthplace.  For 26 years, Harbor Watch has been the front line for clean water in Fairfield County. The event will be held at Norm Bloom and Son Oysters and Clams located on the scenic Norwalk Harbor at 7 Edgewater Place in Norwalk.  The event will feature a selection of cocktails and clams as well as food for land lovers.  In addition the event mark will feature presentation of three awards including Outstanding Volunteerism, Outstanding Community Partner and Outstanding Student Volunteer. .  For 26 years, Harbor Watch has been the front line for clean water in Fairfield County.  Harbor Watch is dedicated to protecting and improving water quality in the local estuaries, watershed, harbors and Long Island Sound.
