12 noon - 4 pm. The Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens Tour will be held at peak blooming season on June 11 and 12. The tour includes the picturesque Bartlett gardens as well as five other gardens in the surrounding area, and is designed so that visitors experience the beauty and range of landscapes and environments. In addition to the tour, on Monday both a luncheon and boutique will be available at the Bartlett as part of the event.

11 am - 4 pm. Tour-goers will have a very special opportunity to experience six spectacular, not-to-be-missed gardens in Westport, Southport and Easton. "Each garden has been carefully selected in honor of this 26th Annual Hidden Garden Tour," said Event Co-Chair Terri Keppel. One of the gardens was a favorite of a past tour and is being showcased again by popular demand to see how it has evolved. On Tour Day there will also be a Garden Market on the WHS Wheeler House lawn from 9am to 5pm. Admission to the Garden Market is free and will feature a variety of local artists offering items such as lavender filled silk pillows, mediation pillows, jewelry, necklace charms, as well as linen tabletop accessories. Tickets are $50 for members and $60 for non-members in advance, $75 day of Tour.

Center for Contemporary Printmaking ETCHING

10 am - 4 pm. In this beginner etching workshop, participants will be introduced to the basics of copper etching. Techniques covered will include chemical alteration to copper plates by use of hard ground, soft ground, and aquatint, as well as acid free approaches to plate making. Traditional hand wiping of the plates will be demonstrated and then practiced by participants. Emphasis on creating strong and efficient work habits will be made for participants to keep throughout their printmaking practices.
