On Sunday, 3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. A commemoration of the Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight of 1956 and the dedication of the Fairfield Museum's new Robert D. Kranyik Hungarian Collection. Beginning at 3 p.m, a wreath laying ceremony will be held at the Memorial Plaque (behind the Burr Homestead), followed by a commemorative program and dedication at the Fairfield Museum. Guest speaker will be Bela Liptak, who experience the events of 1956 firsthand.

Board member and Trumbull teacher Jennifer Winschel will enlighten residents about the history of the Valley and Housatonic Railroad. Centered on the Pequonnock Valley Railway Trail and sites found nearby, she will use stories and photos to share what she has learned about the area over the last several years. Winschel has recently earned another Master's Degree from the Graduate Institute with the focus of her work on the trails. Get there early, seating is limited.
