A little further along the way you will pass The Palace Theater
operated by the Stamford Center for the Arts, and noted as being one of the premier destinations for world class entertainment along Fairfield County's "Gold Coast". Originally designed as a vaudeville house by Thomas Lamb it was acclaimed as "Connecticut's Most Magnificent" when it opened in 1927. It was restored and reopened in 1983 for live theatre, opera, dance and concerts. Additionally, art exhibits are displayed in the Sackler Gallery.
In a typical season, the theater hosts more than 500 events. Premier performing arts groups make the Palace Theater their home and include: Ballet School of Stamford, CT Grand Opera and Orchestra, Connecticut Ballet, Namaskaar Foundation, Stamford Symphony Orchestra, and Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic.
